Are You Failing On Your To-Do List?

Today I only achieved one thing on my to-do list. It was the highest priority item, but the following few items were also high priority items and are tasks that keep getting pushed back every day. Some people would tell me that means they’re tasks that aren’t that important to me, but I know how critically important they are in my life. Yet they still aren’t being done, so it feels like I’m failing.

I have a choice now, I can let the feelings that I’m failing in life continue, or I can practise self-compassion and know that I’m trying my best, and I’ll try again tomorrow.

If you were talking to a friend about today who was having the same problem, you would tell them that they tried their best. Remember to speak to yourself the same way and give yourself the kindness you deserve to hear if you’re struggling right now. We all have a right to treat ourselves with wholehearted compassionate kindness in the same way we treat others. It is a gift of love to ourselves.
